DISTANCE MONITORS

The Sentinel Laser Position Monitor/Range Finder features quick and easy set-up and a handheld programmer. The Sentinel excels in dusty conditions and is capable of measuring to oblique surfaces (this is impossible for radar or ultrasonic instruments). Specific applications the Sentinel may be used for include: measuring tripper cars in dusty storage sheds; rapidly positioning chutes for ship loaders; and collision avoidance detection for moving machinery, ships and trucks. Specifications are as follows:

  • Range: 0.2 to 1500m (.65 to 3281 ft.)
  • Accuracy: +5 mm (.196 in.)
  • Repeatability: +3mm (.199 in.)
  • Resolution: +1mm (.03 in.)

ROTARY POSITION MONITORS

Cascadia’s rotary position monitors are suitable for a range of applications:

  • Position measuring of throttle valves in penstocks of hydro power stations
  • Position measuring of dosing flaps of sluice valves at channels (in irrigation plants, etc.)
  • Detection of lock gate positions (navigation)
  • Position measuring of sluice valves and quenching valves in water supply plants

RIVERT Model MGA (Clamp-on Angle Transmitter)

The MGA is an absolute angle transmitter in encapsulated housing (IP 67 and submersible to 50 meters) with gravity pendulum as a vertical reference. Having an angular motion and a horizontally arranged shaft, this model mounts easily on gates, flaps, drawbridges and other rotating equipment. In addition, there are no gearing or coupling problems associated with the MGA.

  • Output signal 0-20 mA, 4-20 mA
  • Accuracy to 0.05 degrees
  • Protection class IP 67 or IP 68
  • Submersible to 50 m (optional)

RIPOS Model MGI

The encoder MGI is designed for absolute measuring of mechanical positions (angular displacement, lift, distance and travel) of positioning elements. The displacement to be measured is conveyed by gear wheel, chain, lever, universal joint-shaft, etc. to the input shaft of the transmitter. The MGI’s compact and robust design as well the simple assembly enables a wide-range of applications. Features of this model include:

  • Very high accuracy (up to 0.022 degrees)
  • Low temperature dependence
  • Very good repeatability
  • Measuring ranges up to 4096 revolutions
  • Optical and resistive sensor elements
