Type 7100 Precision Air Pressure Regulator

ControlAir Inc. is pleased to announce the introduction of the Type 7100 Precision Air Pressure Regulator. The Type 7100 is a high precision, multi-stage pressure regulator offering fine adjustment and maximum stability under variable operating conditions. Relief capacity up to 80 scfm combined with dynamic sensitivity make the Type 7100 superior for pneumatic counter balance applications.

The Type 7100 precision regulator is similar in design to the Type 100 but has larger porting options that provide higher forward flow and relief capacity. It is not as sensitive as the Type 100 but will work in a wider range of applications that call for larger port size options and increased flow capacity. It has a large diameter supply valve capable of flow rates exceeding 250 scfm. A balanced supply valve and a rolling diaphragm design make this regulator almost impervious to fluctuating supply pressures.

The Type 7100 also uses a Venturi principle aspirator system. An increase in flow creates a vacuum in the venturi tube which is connected to an isolated output control chamber under the diaphragm.  This vacuum will tend to draw the diaphragm downward, further opening the supply valve to minimize output pressure droop. The isolated control chamber also prevents vibration during high flow conditions. The unique design of the Type 7100 uses a stainless-steel measuring capsule as a sensing element to control a balanced servomechanism. Even though the Type 7100 has a high flow design, it can also be used in low flow or dead ended applications.

The Type 7100 Precision Air Pressure Regulator is available in 1/4″, 1/2″ or 3/4″ NPT porting.  Output ranges include 2-40 psig (0.14-2.7 bar), 2-60 psig (0.14-4.1 bar) and 2-120 psig (0.14-8.2 bar).  Maximum supply pressure is 250 psig (17 bar).  A wide temperature range of -20º to 160º F (-29º to 71º C).  Flow capacity up to 250 scfm (7,075 Nl/min) depending on port size and supply pressure.  Exhaust capacity allows relief up to 80 scfm (2,264 Nl/min). Effect of Supply Variation is less than 0.05 psig (3.4m bar) for 100 psig (6.7 bar) change.  The Type 7100 Precision Air Pressure Regulator weighs 2.5 lbs. (1.13 kg). Standard options include tamper-proof cover, tapped exhaust, and ATEX approvals.
